Project Description:
The Project is funded by ACS/Workforce
Connection-under the umbrella of Fresno County “Workforce Investment Board. Its
main goal is to help unemployed and underemployed Southeast Asian youth, ages
14-21, and adults to obtain employment and to become self-sufficient. FCNA’s staff members are committed to working
collaboratively with ACS/Workforce Connection and other partner agencies to
ensure that the Southeast Asian underserved refugees, immigrants, and new
Americans have access to employment assistance, while fostering the importance
of cultural sensitivity in the service delivery process.
FCNA/ACS Employment Project has two services (Core A & Core B) to offer the customers. Core A service is
utilizing the resource room (internet access, fax machines, copy machine,
telephone, job bulletins or job leads) for job search activities with little assistant
from the Employment Readiness Specialist. Core B services is enrollment into
the program, which require the customer to meet with the Self Reliance Team
(SRT) to determine if the customer is an appropriate candidate for the program.
Next, the customer would proceed to meet with the Intake Specialist to verify
eligibly base on income. If the customer is eligible for the program, an
Employment Readiness Specialist (ERS) from ACS would be assign to the customer.
Once the customer completes the components (assessment & workshop) with the
ERS, a Business Accountant Specialist (BAS) would be assign to assist the
customer with job lead.
